Avril Lavigne has suggested that Britney Spears shouldn’t blame the paparazzi for her recent problems because the media is such a core part of being famous – the problems really lie closer to home.

Avril said recently: “What’s happened to Britney is all down to who she is as a person. If you want a piece of this business you have to be able to deal with it.”

“You can’t complain about the pressures, the paparazzi, the madness because that’s the job.”

She added that Britney must have chosen to party in the public eye because she likes to go out drinking too but “no one really gets to know”.
