Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett has signed on to play an undisclosed role in the pucoming Indiana Jones film. She would play a role in the 4th Indiana Jones film which has been delayed now for quite some time.

The film will be starring Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford. Steven Spielberg will be directing with George Lucas doing the producer role for the film.

Blanchett’s role in the film to this point is not known but with her stature on screen it is likely that she could be playing the love interest of Indiana Jones this time out.

Production for the film is set to begin in June with a scheduled release in place for May 22, 2008.
