Penélope Wins Spain’s Goya Awards |
Spanish actress Penelope Cruz won the Goya Prize, Spain’s equivalent of an Oscar, for her performance in Pedro Almodovar’s movie Volver at an overnight gala in Madrid, news reports said Monday.
The dramatic comedy about three generations of women, which is also a candidate for an Oscar for Best Actress, won five Goyas, which included Best Movie, Best Actress (Cruz), Best Director (Almodovar), Best Supporting Actress (Carmen Maura) and Best Music.
