The 40-year-old actress Salma Hayek is pregnant and engaged to a French businessman whose firm owns Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, her spokeswoman said on Friday.

“Francois-Henri Pinault,44, and his fiancée, Salma Hayek, are happy to announce they are expecting the arrival of their first child,”
spokeswoman Ina Treciokas said in a one-paragraph statement.

In a brief telephone call, Treciokas said no other details, including the date the child is due to be born, would be made public.
